Now is a great time to treat any trees planted in the last two years with Bayer Advanced Insect. This will help protect your trees from boring insects that slow down growth or may even destroy your new tree. It is really easy to treat, just follow the directions on the bottle.

Another reminder to water your trees and shrubs!

Champaign, Mahomet and points west of here are VERY DRY with less than 1 inch of rain since February. Remember that trees do not need to be flooded, but do need occasional water.

Any tree lass than 3.5″ caliper or about 15 feet tall or less should have 10 gallons of water per WEEK. Large trees that have been transplanted in the last 5 years need about 100 gallons per WEEK. Laying the hose at the base and walking away from it for an hour is too much water. Call us if you have questions.

Spring Digging

Moore Christmas Tree Farm Open for the Season

Moore Christmas Tree Farm in Urbana, IL is open for the season!

Monday – Friday 12pm – 5pm
Saturday – Sunday 9am – 5pm

The farm will be open November 21st through December 21st. Moore Trees Accepts Cash, Debit/Credit cards. NO CHECKS will be accepted!

Worried about your tree staying fresh?

We have people buy trees before Thanksgiving and keep them up past New Year’s. In order for it to stay fresh, you must be diligent on keeping it in water. The reason most trees do not stay fresh is because people allow the water to get too low in their stand and the bottom of the tree seals over with sap. As long as you keep the water above the bottom of the tree at all times, you should be fine.

Driving Directions

Moore trees is located at 1128 County Road 1500E, Urbana, IL 61802.

Depending on where you start from, there are several ways to get to Moore Christmas Tree’s. If you are traveling from outside Champaign/Urbana:

From the north, take I-74 to the University exit. Turn left onto Rt.150. Then right on Rt. 130. Travel approximately 4 miles, then turn right on County road 1200N. Travel 1 mile, then turn left on County road 1500E. Moore Christmas Tree’s is approximately .7 of a mile, on the left.

From the South, on I-57, take the Monticello road Exit (Willard Airport), head east on Monticello road until you reach Rt. 45 (T intersection). Turn left on Rt. 45, travel 1 mile turning right onto County road 1100N. Travel approximately 3.9 miles until you reach County road 1500E. Turn left on County road 1500E, Moore Christmas Tree’s is approximately .3 of a mile, on the right.
